Fleur Mauxion
Pianist
Fleur Mauxion (age 9) is an aspiring young musician from Warwickshire. Raised in a musical family, Fleur is surrounded by music making. After renaming the family piano ‘sparkle’, she passed her grade 1 with 100% at 4 years old, which was soon followed by cello and singing. At 7 years old Fleur gave her first international performances in Paris and Istanbul with the Rachmaninoff Music Academy. Shortly afterwards, she was chosen to be an Open Foundation scholar by Olga Jegunova, playing in concerts at the French Institute, London. She has been a pupil of Tessa Nicholson’s (Royal Academy/Purcell) since 8 years old and is fortunate to have received tuition from Nicky Eimer, Piers Lane, Murray Mclachlan, Helen Krisoz, Nelly Seng and Ron Abramski. Additionally, she studies singing with Anna Broad and cello with Sarah Huson-Whyte.
As a singer, notably Fleur has been a soloist (Little Cosette, Les Miserables) at the Royal Albert Hall with the Armonico Consort in 2024 and is a member of the Royal Opera House’s Youth Opera, where she has sang in many events, including an adaptation of The Cunning Little Vixen at the Linbury Theatre. Last Christmas marked Fleur’s main-stage debut as a gingerbread child in Hansel and Gretel. Future plans include Carmen (auditions pending), ‘Red’ a new composition and the Wish Thief in the Linbury Theatre, Covent Garden.
This April Fleur will play the first movement of Mozart’s Concerto K.414 at Southwell Minister with ‘Highly Strung’, followed by the full concerto with orchestra later in the year. Over summer, she will attend the Chethams piano summer school on scholarship and has been invited by Gülsin Onay to her masterclass series in Turkey. Fleur loves to perform and is delighted to be sharing the stage with her special friend Deedeh!
