Phoebe Papandrea

Pianist

Award winning British-Italian pianist Phoebe Papandrea was born in London in 2007 into a musical family. She began taking piano lessons at the age of three and performed at The Royal Festival Hall London aged four. By the age of ten Phoebe had been awarded her Diploma in Piano Performance and a Scholarship to the oldest specialist music school in the United Kingdom, The Purcell School for Young Musicians. Phoebe holds a Licentiate of Trinity College London Diploma (LTCL) with Distinction and studies piano in the class of Professor Caterina Grewe. Her studies are supported by the United Kingdom Government Music and Dance Scholarship Scheme. Phoebe also enjoys composing, conducting, violin and trumpet.
Phoebe is the Winner of numerous International Piano Competitions and was recently awarded First Prize at The XI César Franck International Piano Competition in Belgium, First Prize at The VII Livorno International Piano Competition Premio Enrico Galletta, First Prize in The Orbetello International Piano Competition, First Prize in The XXIV Pietro Argento International Piano Competition, First Prize in The XXVIII Mladi Virtuozi Zagreb and First Prize in The XII Young Pianist of the North.
Aged twelve Phoebe made her Carnegie Hall debut after winning First Prize and the Exceptional Young Musician Prize at the Golden Classical Music Awards, New York. In 2022 Phoebe was awarded The Soroptimist and Scholarship Prize at The XV Pianale International Piano Academy and Competition and invited to perform at The XVI Pianale Festival in Fulda, Germany.
Phoebe has enjoyed invitations to perform in concert halls across London and Europe including at Wigmore Hall, Musikverein Wien, Salzburg Mozarteum, Palau de la Música, The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, St John's Smith Square, Cadogan Hall and The Barbican. Phoebe has performed in Austria, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, France, Croatia, Romania, America, Argentina and Japan. Phoebe has also participated in numerous piano masterclasses including with Natalia Trull, Matti Raekallio, Markus Schirmer, Elena Levit, Charles Owen, Stephen Hough, William Fong, Stephan Möller and Maria João Pires.
Aged fourteen Phoebe was awarded The Purcell School Concerto Prize and made her concerto debut with The Purcell Sinfonia Orchestra and in 2023 Phoebe won The Talent Music Academy Concerto Prize in Brescia performing Grieg Piano Concerto in A minor op. 16 with The Master Orchestra under the baton of Sergio Baietta.
Following her International Competition success Phoebe was invited to join the exclusive “Feuerwerk” International Piano Academy and Concert Tour in Germany performing to sold out concert halls in Hannover, Northeim, Einbeck and Braunlage. Phoebe’s upcoming concert schedule includes performances in Austria, Belgium, Italy and Germany.
Phoebe also enjoys performing in hospitals, schools and care homes.
